Diana Ackeret Photo
My name is Diana Ackeret. I would like to say 'Thank You' for entrusting your child in my care for the 2020/2021 school year. Fill free to contact me anytime. My husband, Kevin, and I have lived in Seymour for the past 33 years. We have two children and two grandchildren. Our daughter, Whitney, is the mother of Rowan (3) and Rylie (1) and our son, Chase, was married last year. I am excited to teach both classes of Preschool 3's this year. Foremost, we will be learning about our Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ, and how much He loves us. We will work on our letters, numbers, shapes, colors, and writing our name. We will have fun experimenting with science projects and doing crafts. We will also learn how important it is to have listening ears, quiet mouths, helping hands, walking feet, and taking turns.
Hi, I am Ashley Brown. I have been working at Zion for 6 years now. I have been a Preschool Two teacher for three years. I’m married to my husband Tyler and we have one child Easton who is almost one. We live in Seymour. I have lived here my whole life. My favorite things are purple, stir fry, and spending time with family. I am excited to be your child’s teacher this year and look forward to seeing them.
My name is Mrs. Johnni Hoene. I am excited to be your child’s Preschool 4’s teacher for the 2020/2021 school year. A little bit about me: I grew up here in Seymour and have always been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. My husband, Eric, and I have two daughters. Our oldest, Kirstin, will be a Senior at Indiana State University and our youngest, Sidney, will be a Sophomore at Ball State University. I have worked at Zion since August of 2005, and have been both a teacher and a teacher’s assistant. I am looking forward to teaching the morning 4’s this year. I try to run my classroom with a good balance of fun and structure. I love for kids to be able to be kids and I strive to make their first few years of learning an exciting time. We will work on all of the skills it takes to become a good student, such as listening when the teacher or another friend is talking, using walking feet and a talking voice while indoors, how to line up quietly and that it’s important, and fun, to participate in group time activities. We will learn lots of other things too, like how to write our names properly, letter recognition and sounds, number, shape and color recognition. We will be doing some math and will learn some site words as well. We will also do fun and messy science experiments and have some social studies time during our week too. We will definitely have plenty of playtime! Most importantly we will learn how much God loves and cares for us all. I can’t wait to be able to share that wonderful news with your child. We will have Jesus time every day where the children will be reminded that the Bible is true and that everything in it really happened, and that it is God’s word. We will do lots of singing and have daily prayers as well. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child, and to working with you to help your child grow mentally and spiritually.
